Washington Cougar Hunting Any hunter who purchases a cougar license may apply for a cougar hound hunt in Washington. Bearpaw Outfitters highly experienced dogs have been kept in hunting condition by doing cougar hunts in Idaho and Utah, as well as Washington. During many seasons, Bearpaw Outfitters have had 100% success on cougar hunts. Bearpaw Outfitters know the entire NE Washington area well and have private land access in the area as well as knowing the best public areas. Don't miss out on the opportunity to hunt the big cats in Washington. Guided Cougar Hunts Bearpaw Outfitters offer cougar hunts for Cougar permit holders. These trips include lodging, meals, and are guided by experienced hound hunters using proven cougar dogs. Semi-Guided Cougar Hunts If you prefer to hunt on your own and find your own cougar tracks, but want some experienced dogs to help with catching the cat, then this is the right hunt for you. These trips include lodging, meals, specific directions where to hunt, and an experienced hound hunter with dogs after you find the cougar tracks. You will hunt on your own looking for the tracks, then after you find tracks we will bring dogs and help you. Unguided Cougar Hunts If you prefer to hunt on your own, find your own cougar tracks, and use your own dogs, but you would like a place to stay and would like to get some hunting directions about good areas to hunt, and also have some private land access, then this hunt is right for you. Bearpaw Outfitters will provide meals, lodging and hunting directions. Call Dale to work out the details for the hunt. Application Deadline: Midnight, May 26 c Purchase Applications Online c Who May Purchase: Anyone who has purchased a Washington Cougar License may apply for a special permit for hound hunting cougar. If a quota is not reached in a hunt zone by February 15, then the Department may issue permits to additional hunters (hunters will be drawn at random from the unselected pool of applicants). c How to Purchase: Permit applications may be purchased at any hunting and fishing license dealership, by calling toll-free 1-866-246-9453, or online at www.fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov. Permit applications go on sale starting April 26, 2010. The cost for a special hunt permit application is $6.00 for residents or $60.00 for Non-residents. c How to Apply: Once a cougar permit application is purchased, you may either call the toll-free permit application submission telephone number 1-877-945-3492 or visit the Internet website at: http://www.fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/special_permits.html.
