This is a multi-specie adventure, hunt and trap for wolf, mt lion, bobcat, other furbearers, and hound hunt for mountain lion and bobcat. Learn the art of wolf trapping on an active trapline and experience the thrill of hound hunting on the same trip. Mountain Lion hunting with hounds is also offered in Southeast Idaho and DIY Maps are offered for do-it-yourself wolf hunters.

Search for Mt Lion and Bobcat tracks to chase with the hounds and check an active trapline for wolves, bobcat, coyote, and other furbearers. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to experience and learn wolf trapping and hound hunting for cougar and bobcat on the same trip.

Hunt Area

This game rich 350 square mile hunting and trapping area is located along the Idaho / Montana border and is only two hours drive from the Spokane WA airport. A network of remote logging roads are used to access this scenic mountain terrain that is disected by many creeks and rivers.

Opportunity

The trip will focus on the species you prefer. The goal is to send every hunter home with at least one animal and hopefully with several, which could include wolves, mt lion, bobcat, coyote, or other furbearers. Success varies depending on weather and the length of trip chosen.

It's a rare chance to experience hunting, trapping, and hound hunting on the same trip with licensed guide, trapper, and hound hunter Brian Denney.

What animals can I take?

The trip focuses on whichever species you prefer. The goal is to send every hunter home with at least one animal and hopefully several, which could include wolves, mountain lion, bobcat, or other furbearers like beaver, coyote, ermine, marten, mink, muskrat, otter, and raccoon.

Where is the hunt and how do I get there?

This game-rich 350 square mile area is located along the Idaho / Montana border, only two hours drive from the Spokane, Washington airport. 4x4 trucks or snowmobiles are used to travel logging roads and access the scenic mountain terrain, which is dissected by many creeks and rivers.

What does the trip cost?

A 2-day hunt with 3 nights lodging is $2950, a 4-day hunt with 5 nights is $4950, and a 6-day hunt with 7 nights is $6950. A non-hunter is $200 per day/night. To book, check available dates and send a 50% deposit with an application.

What license and tags do I need?

License and tags are sold over the counter: a non-resident license is $195.00, a Mt Lion tag is $41.75, and wolf tags are $31.75. No additional tag is needed for many furbearers.

Where do I stay?

You'll stay in one of the cabins, with the bathrooms and kitchen in a separate building. Meals are included with the trip. A typical day is an early continental breakfast, a sack lunch on the hunt, and a cooked dinner when you return.
