Idaho Hunting Guide
Bearpaw Outfitters needs an experienced and
successful western big game hunter who would
like to guide hunters in our Southeast Idaho
area. Successful applicant must: be honest,
mature, dependable, clean and presentable, enjoy
people, be a very knowledgeable and experienced
western big game hunter, and must have little or
no wildlife violations.
Successful applicant will need to attend a 1 day
first aid class and spend time in the hunting
areas learning the habits of our local game
before you can actually guide hunters. Please
email a short resume detailing your hunting
experience, work history, work references, and
personal references. You are required to stay at
our hunting locations during the hunts and you
are are also welcome to stay in camp between
hunts so you will have minimal living expenses.
Wages:
You will start at $100 per hunt day ($65 for
wages and $35 for your gear). We try to schedule
15 to 20 hunt days per month. Your performance
will dictate wage increases.
FYI - Several of our guides have other
occupations and work for just a week or two each
year, we also have retired people who fit in
well, and we have some younger guys who are a
real asset to the operation. As you can see, the
most important thing is that you can get the job
done.
Montana Hunting Guide

Apprentice Guide/Wrangler/Camp Jack
Bearpaw Outfitters needs an experienced hunter
who would like to learn to be a guide so they
can guide hunters in our hunting areas.
Successful applicant must be honest, mature,
dependable, clean and presentable, enjoy people,
and be a knowledgeable and experienced hunter,
and must have little or no wildlife violations.
Guide school is a plus but not necessary.
Successful applicant will need to attend a 1 day
first aid class.
This is a learn while you work position and
successful applicant must be willing to do all
the odd jobs necessary to keep an outfitting
business going. This may include setting camps,
wrangler work, cooking, accompanying experienced
guides, cutting firewood, skinning game, packing
meat, etc. As your abilities improve and it is
determined that you are capable of guiding we
will get you licensed and you will be moved into
being more of a guide than an apprentice. You
are required to stay at our camps during the
hunts and are welcome to stay in camp between
hunts so you will have minimal living expenses.
Wages:
You will start at $1300 per month. Your
performance will dictate wage increases.
FYI - This position has been popular with young
guys wanting to get started in the guiding and
outfitting industry. Several of our best guides
started in this position.
